Trellis welcomes you to networking meetings

At the network meetings you get to know what happens in your area in your field of work. It gives you the opportunity to talk to like-minded people and share ideas and work methods. Often, we run network meetings in partnersip with other organisations e.g. The Federation of City Farms and Community Gardens, to enable wider local networking and exchange of knowledge and skills.

Highland Community Growing Network

10.30 am – 3.00pm Meet others interested in therapeutic gardening and share insights, skills and good practice through discussion, garden tour, networking and a presentation on the new CALEY Grow and Learn Awards (Recognising individual progress and achievement in horticulture).  This event is suitable for anyone wishing to /already supporting people to garden in community, education and health settings.

Aberdeen community garden and therapeutic networking day
Wednesday July 1st 2015
 10-3 pm Are you involved in community or therapeutic gardening activity and looking to network with others? This networking session will include the opportunity to meet others, hear about the recent development of community garden activity at Donside Village, AB24 2PL  and raise topics for group discussion. A soup and bread lunch will be included.  This day is free to attend but booking is essential.
3pm- 4.30 pm This session is aimed at those looking to establish or support community gardening activity in their locality. Come along to a short presentation of the benefits of community growing, have your questions answered on what to do next and find out more about resources available to get you started.

 The Horticultural Trades Association (HTA) is delighted to invite you to a reception at the Scottish Parliament, celebrating the positive contribution horticulture makes to health, education, well-being, the environment and community regeneration across Scotland. Speakers include the Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs, Food and Environment, Richard Lochhead, Christine Grahame MSP and Dr Richard Simpson MSP, a Patron of Trellis. The Maxwell centre runs a  community and therapeutic garden successful in engaging over 800 young people from local primary schools as well as a 4 days/ week Summer Gardening Club. Tour the very productive garden; see the outdoor classroom, space for play, child-sized tools, disabled access etc.
Also featuring a Biodiversity in Community Gardens - How to encourage wildlife in your garden workshop.

Bringing people together from disability and environmental organisations in order to increase access to nature and enjoyment of the outdoors for people with a disability. An outdoor-based networking event, the Greenability Conference will bring together disability sector agencies and environmental sector organisations to learn about and share good practice around the impact outdoor spaces can have on people with disabilities in terms of health and well-being.

Inverness Community Garden Networking Day

The day will bring together people interested in community growing, and look at best ways that the Highlands Council can support community growing in the region.  There will be a case study from Transition Town Forres, and two site visits to The Garden Project at Inverness Botanic Gardens and The REAL Project at Inverness High School.  Book your place here

This FREE networking event is a day of two halves visiting and looking at two distinct sites and models of community growing.  We start at 'North Edinburgh Grows’, the new gardening project at North Edinburgh Arts and in the afternoon by prearranged lift share and taxis (provided by FCFCG) we will visit and tour local projects in Granton with Granton Community Gardeners The visit will include a tour of the gardens, and a chance to hear the story of how it all came about, how the group organise themselves, and their exciting plans for the future! North Edinburgh arts has a café serving good value hot and cold food or you can bring sandwiches for lunch. Tea and coffee will be provided. FCFCG and Trellis Networking Event – Stranraer

Aldouran Wetland Garden,  Leswalt, near Stranraer

This networking event is a chance to get together with other people who are active with or interested in the many aspects of community gardening. The day will comprise of networking, a question and answer session and a tour around the nearby Aldouran Wetland Garden. This wetland garden is a haven for biodiversity and thrives through local community involvement with the community gardening plots, the bird hide and the wetland area. On the day there will be a chance to learn from experts about wetland habitat management and to learn about bird related activities that can be carried out with groups of adults and children.

A Federation of City Farms & Community Gardens and Trellis networking event.
The day will allow you to meet other interested people, involves a site visit to Broomhill Gardens and will include a session on working with volunteers. The Network Meeting and AGM of 23 September at VSA Easter Anguston Farm was a sunny and productive meeting. After an introduction we moved outside and continued to share ideas and good practice and discuss issues that came up. A delicious lunch, a tour around the grounds and a further indepth talk about points made in the morning made the day go by in an instant.

Networking Event at Ochil Care Home, 2 Ettrick Drive, Perth PH1 1SB 

from 2pm-5pm. Free to attend
Are you interested in gardening for well-being? Curious about wildlife gardening and urban biodiversity? Creating a garden in a care setting?
Come along and meet other people who have similar interests, to share ideas and good practice. Refreshments provided.
• Enjoy a short presentation, information and support on gardening in care settings from Trellis.
• Learn about biodiversity and gardening with the Tayside Biodiversity Partnership. Find out easy ways to help hedgehogs, birds, butterflies and bumblebees flourish in a care setting for all to enjoy.
• Lots of resources and information to take away including a template Site Biodiversity Action Plan which can be used for any gardens of any size.
• Weather and time-permitting there will be an opportunity to briefly explore Ochil's garden to see how it is being managed for biodiversity
