Create engaging therapeutic and learning experiences?  

Join us at Balnacraig, a residential school for young people with complex Additional Support Needs (11-16 yrs) to find out about their new therapeutic garden. Includes:

  • ‘Our garden story’ Presentations on the the rationale behind the use of a garden space in this type of educational setting;  The challenges and the pleasures of creating and using the garden.
  • Garden Tour - Opportunity to network and guided tour of the garden
  • Presentation from Dr Shona Quinn, The nurturing and therapeutic model of care used at Balnacraig
  • Open Group Discussion on the questions you’d like to raise as well as what works/overcoming barriers to gardening activities.
This event is an opportunity to meet with others interested in therapeutic gardening - share insights, skills and good practice through presentations, discussion and a garden tour.
Suitable for anyone wishing to /already supporting young people with complex ASN in community, education and health settings.
