Outreach worker and trainer seeking additional sessional and part time work. Lothians based but will travel. Experienced in managing community gardens, allotments, running outdoor based volunteer/trainee groups, garden events and workshops. Worked with a broad range of ages, abilities and backgrounds eg. learning disabilities, young people, mental health. Presently working at Volunteer Midlothian (Midlothian Growing Together) and with Midlothian Councils PAVE programme providing gardening workshops but would like additional hours/days work.
skills: BSc Animal Biology, RHS Level 2 in Horticulture and Level 3 in the Principles of Plant Growth, Health and Propagation. Currently studying for a Permaculture Design Certificate. 8 years experience in organising and leading groups in many different types of land-based activities; basic woodwork/joinery, fruit and vegetable growing, wildlife gardening, horticulture, grounds maintenance, boundaries and pathways, woodland management, habitat restoration/creation, willow work and building an outdoor classroom as well as delivering various personal development awards.
