A vacancy has arisen for a Senior Vocational Activity Instructor to be based within the Garden & Animal Assisted Therapy Centre. The post holder will have a lead role in the provision of therapeutic horticultural and animal therapy activities for the patients and will provide guidance, support and direction to the team of staff in the department. The role involves working closely with the Charge Nurse, who has overall clinical responsibility for the area, to provide activity and interventions that are beneficial for the improvement of the patient’s mental health and contribute to their care and treatment plan. The post holder will be expected to lead in the provision of vocational qualifications for the patients in horticulture and/or related topics and to assist other staff develop the necessary skills to deliver vocational qualifications.

Tiphereth is a Camphill community based on the edge of the Pentland hills in Edinburgh providing care and support to adults with learning disabilities and autism in supported living, residential care, day services and social enterprises.

The care of tools, machinery, glasshouse and garden furniture or ornaments; • Work with organic and self-sustaining practises in mind to manage the Kitchen Garden and Orchard areas. • Assist with the Maintenance of the infrastructure including paths, drive, steps, paved areas, bridges, drains and shelterbelts; • Be responsible and accountable for the implementation of the Camphill’s Health & Safety Policy at the property, being mindful at all times of the health and safety of self, staff, volunteers, Residents ,day students and visitors. • Participating fully in the Communities wider team. • Participate & contribute to the programme of events run within Camphill Blair Drummond
